Structural Repair Retrofitting And Strengthening Technique

The methods of structural reinforcement mainly include 13 kinds, including bonding steel reinforcement, bonding carbon fiber reinforcement, wrapped profiled steel reinforcement, chemical planting reinforcement, chemical bolt, crack chemical grouting reinforcement, structural adhesive repair and reinforcement, prestressing reinforcement, increasing section reinforcement, adding support reinforcement, protective reinforcement, wire winding reinforcement and bonding glass fiber, basalt fiber reinforcement. Different reinforcement methods are applicable to different scenarios.
1. Bonded steel reinforcement
It is applicable to the bending, shearing, tension and compression reinforcement of beam, plate and column members mainly accepting static force. When it is used for the reinforcement of compression members and members receiving large dynamic forces, additional anchoring methods should be added; For example, 2 planting bolts or cross beam and cross plate split bolt anchors are set every 100mm. The concrete strength grade of the reinforced member should not be lower than C15.
2. Bonded carbon fiber reinforcement
It is applicable to the bending, shearing, tension and compression reinforcement of beams, plates and columns, and the reinforcement of dynamic members and curved members. When strengthening members are used for compression members, they should be enclosed and posted. The concrete strength grade of the strengthened member should not be lower than C15.
3. Wrapped profile steel reinforcement
It is applicable to members that need to improve the bearing capacity by a large margin.
4. Chemical planting reinforcement
It is applicable to the connection and extension of reinforced concrete structures and other components, or the addition of load-bearing reinforcement. When the base material is plain concrete or rock, the anchorage length of planting reinforcement shall be determined through special experiments. The strength grade of base material concrete should not be lower than C20.
5. Chemical bolt
It is applicable to the anchoring of non structural members, non main members, appliances and concrete (such as the fixation of air conditioning pipes and equipment bases). The strength grade of base material concrete should not be lower than C20.
6. Crack chemical grouting reinforcement
It is suitable for recovering the integrity and application function of cracked components, and blocking the erosion of concrete and reinforcement by other media.
7. Structural glue repair and reinforcement
It is applicable to the repair of holes, pits and sections of concrete and masonry components.

8. Prestressed reinforcement
It is suitable for strengthening beams, plates and columns under bending, tension and compression, with less stress lag and good coordination.
9. Enlarge the section for reinforcement
It is applicable to structures insensitive to self weight addition and appearance change.
10. Add support and reinforcement
It is applicable to structures that do not require much space and visibility.
11. Protection and reinforcement
The structural adhesive is applied on the concrete surface to prevent carbonization and corrosion, and improve the durability of components.
12. Wire winding reinforcement
Annealed steel wire is wrapped around the compression member, so that the concrete is restrained by an additional ring, and then its ultimate bearing capacity and ductility are improved. The effect is similar to that of surrounding fiber material reinforcement.
13. Glass fiber and basalt fiber reinforcement
It is applicable to the bending, shearing, tension and compression reinforcement of beams, plates and columns, and the reinforcement of dynamic members and curved members. When strengthening members are used for compression members, they should be enclosed and posted. The concrete strength grade of the strengthened member should not be lower than C15.
