Carbon fiber reinforcement is an effective method for strengthening bridges. Since carbon fiber material has its own characteristics of light weight and high strength, after using this reinforcement method, the local structure of the bridge can be effectively reinforced without increasing the weight of the bridge. 


So, what are the requirements that need to be met when doing bridge carbon fiber reinforcement?



Section 1. Cross-sectional area requirements


Because when strengthening, it usually acts on some original components in the bridge. If the cross-sectional area of these original components does not meet the lower limit requirements in the regulations, it will be difficult to exert the ideal reinforcement effect.




Section 2. The height requirements of the pressure zone


Reinforced concrete will be used in the construction of bridges, some of which need to have a certain degree of bending, then the bending place will bear a relatively large load.


When the bridge members are reinforced with carbon fiber bridges, the compression zone of the bending part must meet the height requirements. In addition, the volume hoop ratio and reinforcement ratio of the compression zone must also meet certain requirements.



Section 3. Component bearing capacity requirements


Many components in the bridge need to carry weight. Reinforcement materials will have a slight impact on the bearing capacity of these components at the bend. If too many carbon fiber layers are used, the bearing capacity of the components will be changed.


Therefore, in order to avoid changing the load-bearing capacity of the members when strengthening the carbon fiber of the bridge, it is necessary to ensure that the load-bearing capacity of the members meets the specified requirements.
